Tragedy struck on Saturday night in Arizona, USA, when two Indian students lost their lives in a road accident. Nivesh Mukka and Goutham Parsi, both 19-year-old Computer Science students at Arizona State University, were traveling in a white Kia Forte when their vehicle collided head-on with a red Ford F150 traveling southbound.
Both Mukka and Parsi, who hailed from Telangana, India, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford F150 was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital, where they have since been released.
The Peoria Police Department is investigating the incident, and their Traffic Services Unit is working to determine the cause of the collision. The Police Department has expressed gratitude to the citizens who stopped to provide aid at the scene.
The Arizona State University’s International Students and Scholars Centre is working with the dean of students, counselling services, and housing representatives to offer support to the victims’ friends, roommates, and student groups.
