Orioles Triumph Over Angels, Marking Milestone Win in Franchise History

The Baltimore Orioles’ offense showed its power and resilience in their 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Monday night. James McCann and Colton Cowser contributed solo home runs, while Adley Rutschman drove in two runs, aiding the Orioles in claiming their seventh win in their last eight games.

Baltimore starter Albert Suárez, in his second major league appearance since 2017, pitched four-hit ball into the sixth inning, marking a triumphant return to the mound. He earned his first major league victory since June 23, 2016, for the San Francisco Giants.

The Orioles’ bullpen faced a challenging ninth inning, but Craig Kimbrel, the veteran closer, remained composed. He allowed a single and two walks, loading the bases, before striking out Mike Trout looking, securing the much-needed save for Baltimore.

Reid Detmers, the Angels’ starter, who had an impressive 1.19 ERA in his first four starts, conceded four runs on six hits and three walks in his first loss since last August 23rd.

Despite Jo Adell’s home run in the seventh inning, the Angels have now lost eight of their last 10 games, with their winless streak reaching five consecutive games. The Orioles, on the other hand, have moved into first place in the AL East and are 3-1 on their current road trip.
