57-Year-Old Man Clubbed to Death Over Song Dispute at Wedding in Agra
On Monday morning, tragedy struck at a wedding in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, as a 57-year-old man was allegedly beaten to death by his brother-in-law and several others following a dispute over a song played by the hired band.
The incident unfolded during the farewell ceremony for the victim’s daughter, Madhu, who got married on Sunday. As the family made arrangements for the bride’s departure, an altercation erupted between the victim, Ram Baran Singh, and his brother-in-law, Raju Singh, over the selection of a song.
According to police reports, elders in the family intervened and temporarily resolved the dispute, prompting Raju to leave the premises. However, he allegedly returned shortly after with his son, Sunil, and four nephews: Sachin, Pushpendra, Ranjit, and Vijay.
Armed with iron rods and stones, the group launched an attack on Singh, striking him repeatedly. Despite efforts by family members to intervene, the victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Authorities have lodged an FIR at the Fatehabad police station against five individuals, including Raju Singh, the primary accused. Raids are currently underway to apprehend the suspects, but no arrests have been made as of yet. The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and investigations are ongoing to determine the motive behind the fatal attack.
