Parking Mayhem in Eastlands: Incorrect Tickets Frustrate Residents
Residents living near the Co-op Live and Etihad Stadium in Eastlands, Manchester, have been subjected to a wave of incorrect parking tickets. The issue stems from a new residents’ parking scheme implemented alongside the opening of the 23,500-capacity Co-op Live venue on April 20th. The scheme, which operates seven days a week from midday to 11 pm, was intended to deter gig-goers and football fans from parking on residential roads.
However, over-zealous enforcement officers have issued 159 tickets during the Co-op Live opening weekend alone. Confusion reigns among Beswick residents over the process for obtaining visitors’ passes, leading to their guests being fined.
