Armed man arrested at Johnson City High School track meet. Police were called to Johnson City High School around 2:40 p.m. Saturday for reports of a man who had grabbed a female athlete and was leading her toward a parking lot, telling her she had to leave with him. The man, later identified as 40-year-old Colin Williams of Johnson City, was detained by coaches from the Horseheads and Owego-Apalachin track teams. They confiscated a knife from him. When police arrived, he was placed in handcuffs. Officers then discovered that he was in possession of a loaded 10mm Glock handgun. According to a police department news release, investigators determined that Williams was intoxicated and believed the girl he grabbed was his daughter. Williams has been charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned and ordered held at Broome County Jail.
