Klim Kostin, who played for the San Jose Sharks after being traded by the Edmonton Oilers, attended Game 1 of the Oilers’ playoff series against the Los Angeles Kings on April 15. Wearing his former Oilers jersey, Kostin was featured on the arena’s scoreboard and responded with a smile and laugh to the cheers of the Oilers fans. Kostin had a successful season with the Oilers in 2022-2023, recording a career-high 21 points in 57 games and adding five points in 12 playoff games. However, he was traded to the Detroit Red Wings in July 2022, where he struggled to make an impact before being traded to the Sharks in March 2023. Kostin has one year remaining on his contract with a cap hit of $2 million and will turn 25 next month. It remains unclear whether Kostin’s appearance in Edmonton was solely for the purpose of attending the game or if there were other reasons behind his visit.
