In a significant move to enhance road safety, Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Amara Athar has implemented a comprehensive crackdown on motorcyclists who disregard helmet regulations. Effective today, riders without helmets will be prohibited from using major roads in Lahore, including Mall Road, Canal Road, and Jail Road. The CTO has emphasized that adherence to helmet-wearing rules will be strictly enforced through rigorous monitoring. Violators will be issued a challan of Rs2,000. This measure aims to instill a culture of safety on Lahore’s roads, and is part of a larger initiative to minimize accidents and protect the well-being of citizens. Therefore, all motorcyclists in Lahore are advised to prioritize their safety by wearing helmets when riding to avoid the hefty fine. This initiative underscores the commitment of traffic authorities to ensure a safer road environment for all.
