If you have opted for early access, then the release date and time countdown for when it will come out is just a couple of days away. The early access release date for Sea of Thieves on PS5 is April 25th. As for the Standard package, that is set to launch for everyone on April 30th. There was a closed beta earlier this month, and, if you participated in it, your progress will carry over to the full release whether in a couple of days or at the end of the month.
Per the official FAQ from Rare, you will need a PS Plus subscription to enjoy online multiplayer, but you can enjoy SoT solo without a PS Plus subscription. Rare’s FAQ also confirms that the game is crossplay between PC, PS5, and Xbox. However, there will be dedicated PlayStation servers so you can opt out of crossplay if you so wish.
The early access launch time for Sea of Thieves on PS5 is 12:00 AM UTC on April 25th. This launch time is confirmed by the countdown on the PlayStation Store. Players opting for the Standard and Deluxe edition will have until the same hours on April 30th for the game to unlock. To participate in sailing the seas from April 25th, you must purchase the Premium edition.

Per the official Twitter account, you can now preload early access on PS5 provided you have pre-ordered the Premium edition. There’s no mention of the download size, but the closed beta earlier this month was 76.86 GB.
