A woman has faced an unimaginable ordeal after her friend’s sausage dog savagely attacked her face, leaving her with a permanent scar and ongoing trauma. Kelly Allen, 45, was enjoying an evening of drinks when the unprovoked attack occurred, leaving her horrified and in excruciating pain.
The dog, reportedly known for its friendly demeanor, suddenly snapped and latched onto Kelly’s cheek, refusing to let go until it had torn off a significant portion of her flesh and consumed it. Kelly was left with an open wound that required five and a half hours of plastic surgery and more than 40 stitches.
The severed chunk of her cheek left a gruesome scar, while she also sustained a bite wound on her arm and a large scar on her chest from skin grafting. Kelly’s physical injuries have been compounded by the severe emotional trauma she has endured since the attack.
Nightmares and flashbacks plague her, and the sight of blood triggers intense fear. She struggles to leave her house without the support of her sons and is unable to return to her job due to the trauma and her altered appearance.
Kelly has since learned that the dog had a history of aggression and had previously attacked two people. Despite being removed and euthanized, the incident has left her shaken and traumatized.
To add to her distress, the statutory sick pay Kelly receives is insufficient to cover her bills and living expenses, leaving her in dire financial straits. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched by her sister to help alleviate some of the financial burden.
Kelly’s physical and emotional recovery remains an ongoing process. While the wounds on her face and body may eventually heal, the psychological scars of the attack will likely endure. She continues to seek legal compensation, but the road ahead is expected to be lengthy and uncertain.
