KENT COUNTY, MI – A former police K9 for Wyoming Department of Public Safety has died, police said Tuesday, April 23. The police dog, Jett, had lived with his handler, Officer Adam Sherman, for three years after serving the department for six years. The dog was retired in 2021.
Jett was a dual-purpose K9, trained to track as well as detect narcotics. He was known for his exceptional skills and dedication to the department. Jett was a loyal and beloved member of the Wyoming Police family and will be greatly missed.
Jett’s passing is a reminder of the important role that K9s play in law enforcement. They are highly trained and skilled animals that work alongside officers to keep our communities safe. Jett’s legacy will continue to inspire future K9s and handlers who dedicate their lives to serving their communities.
