Idina Menzel, the beloved actress and Grammy and Tony Award-winning Broadway icon, is embarking on a highly anticipated North American concert tour, her first in eight years. The ‘Take Me or Leave Me Tour,’ named after the iconic song from the groundbreaking musical ‘Rent,’ will kick off on July 19th in Seattle, Washington, and span across major cities, concluding on August 18th in Greensboro, North Carolina.
Menzel’s return to the stage promises an unforgettable experience for fans. She will perform a captivating setlist that showcases her remarkable vocal range and versatility, spanning her illustrious career. Audiences can expect an eclectic mix of hits from her solo albums, jazz standards, and beloved Broadway tunes from ‘Wicked,’ ‘Rent,’ and the blockbuster animated film ‘Frozen,’ where she voiced the iconic character of Elsa.
The ‘Take Me or Leave Me’ tour title reflects Menzel’s personal and artistic journey. She shares, “Maureen [from ‘Rent’] was always uninhibited and extremely comfortable in who she was, maybe to the fault. I’ve always loved that song and I miss that character, but I would say I’m naming the tour this from a different perspective. Obviously, many, many years later, it’s about who I am in this point in my life. I haven’t seen my fans in a long time, and I want to show them how I’ve changed, and how I haven’t. I want to show them my experiences and hopefully, they’ll love me no matter what.”
Tickets for the ‘Take Me or Leave Me Tour’ go on sale on April 24th for artist presales and April 26th for the general public. Fans can expect an unforgettable evening filled with Menzel’s powerful vocals, heartfelt storytelling, and the timeless songs that have captivated audiences for decades.
