With the arrival of warmer temperatures and the blossoming of spring, West Hartford is delighted to announce the expansion of on-street outdoor dining corrals in two vibrant districts: Blue Back Square and the West Hartford Center. These enhancements are set to take place on May 9th, just ahead of the Mother’s Day holiday weekend. Visitors to these popular destinations can anticipate the installation of barriers on LaSalle Road, Farmington Avenue, and Memorial Road to create dedicated spaces for al fresco dining. While lane closures may occur briefly in the work zones, roadways will remain open to ensure accessibility. In conjunction with these changes, Public Works will also be undertaking tree trimming along sidewalks to further enhance the pedestrian experience. West Hartford’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and welcoming outdoor dining scene extends beyond the immediate future. Plans are in motion to widen sidewalks in 2025, providing even more ample space for patrons to enjoy their meals in the open air. This expansion of outdoor dining corrals and the planned sidewalk widening underscore West Hartford’s dedication to creating a thriving and enjoyable downtown environment.
