Donning traditional dhotis and saffron turbans, supporters of BJP-TDP-JSP candidate P. Vishnu Kumar Raju for the Visakhapatnam North Assembly Constituency marched enthusiastically from the former MLA’s office to the MRO office at Seethammadhara on Tuesday. The nomination rally was a spectacle of traditional artistry, with women and elderly participants dancing to the beats of ‘dhol’ and carrying flags of the respective parties. The jubilant procession was accompanied by vibrant performances of ‘Kolatam’, a traditional folk dance. Mr. Vishnu Kumar Raju, along with Visakhapatnam TDP Lok Sabha candidate M. Sribharat, Rajya Sabha member G.V.L. Narasimha Rao, and JSP leader Ushakiran, led the procession, which was met with cheers and offerings of ‘harathi’ and flowers from local residents. At a subsequent press conference, Mr. Vishnu Kumar Raju expressed his confidence in securing a resounding victory with a majority of over 50,000 votes. He also voiced concerns over alleged attempts by the YSRCP candidate to hinder the participation of auto-rickshaw drivers in his nomination rally.
