The President of the Tamil Nadu unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), K. Annamalai, has accused the Congress government in Karnataka of practicing appeasement politics and failing to maintain law and order. Addressing the press, Annamalai, a former Superintendent of Police of Udupi and Chikkamagaluru districts, criticized the state government’s response to the recent murder of a college student in Hubballi.
Annamalai asserted that there is no straightforward law and order maintenance in Karnataka. He challenged the Home Minister’s reaction to the murder, calling it uncivilized. He contrasted this with the BJP’s humanitarian response to the incident.
Annamalai highlighted the BJP’s 2019 Lok Sabha election manifesto, which contained 295 elements. He claimed that the Union government has fulfilled all of these promises.
On the day of his press conference, Annamalai conducted roadshows with Captain Brijesh Chowta, the BJP candidate for Dakshina Kannada constituency, in Kadaba and Puttur. He also conducted roadshows in Kundapura and Brahmavar and participated in a public meeting in Hebri in Udupi district.
