The Disneyland Resort in Anaheim is gearing up for a new themed festival, Pixar Fest, which is set to officially begin on April 26th. This marks only the second time the animation giant has been celebrated at the resorts. While some fans are excited about getting to celebrate their favorite Pixar movies all summer long, others have criticized the festival for being a quick and easy cash grab.
One of the main criticisms of Pixar Fest is that it doesn’t offer enough new entertainment. The Disneyland Resort has scaled back entertainment greatly since the COVID-19 shutdown, and this celebration doesn’t seem to have much to offer in terms of new stage shows or parades. Instead, the resort is promising several photo ops and character greeting experiences.
Another criticism of Pixar Fest is that it’s taking over both parks. Many fans believe that the festival should have stayed at Disney’s California Adventure, where the franchise is more prevalent. However, Disneyland is also getting into the action, with new themed eats and popcorn buckets, as well as a Pixar-themed fireworks show.
Despite the mixed reactions, Pixar Fest is sure to offer something for everyone. If you’re a fan of Pixar movies, then you’ll definitely want to check out this celebration. However, if you’re looking for a more traditional Disney experience, then you may want to skip Pixar Fest and wait for the next big event at the Disneyland Resort.
Pixar Fest runs from April 26th through August 4th. Head on over to the official Disneyland Resort website for tickets and reservation information.
