The Los Angeles Fire Department is excited to announce the launch of its ‘Howling Heroes’ Mascot contest. Dog owners are invited to nominate their furry friends and cast their votes, with each vote directly supporting the LAFD Foundation’s mission to provide essential equipment and programs for the brave firefighters and their canine companions.
Participants can enter their dogs in the contest until 8 p.m. Wednesday. Each vote costs $1, with all proceeds benefiting the LAFD Foundation, a nonprofit organization that funds initiatives like the canine therapy program and the search and rescue team.
A panel of esteemed judges, including Fire Chief Kristin Crowley, will scrutinize the top 10 vote-getters to select the ultimate winner. The victorious pooch will not only become the official mascot of the LAFD but also receive widespread recognition across all LAFD platforms, a professional photo shoot, and the coveted bragging rights.
The second and third-place winners will not go unrewarded, as they will receive gift baskets filled with exclusive LAFD apparel.
The ‘Howling Heroes’ contest not only provides a platform to showcase adorable canine companions but also serves a noble purpose by raising funds for the LAFD Foundation, which plays a vital role in supporting the brave firefighters who protect our communities.
