Brent Browner, the coach at Bishop Gorman, where Odunze played, has high praise for the young receiver. “He taps into all of those things,” Browner said. “He’ll have the same values an organization has.”
Odunze’s work ethic is evident in his performance on the field. Browner witnessed Odunze’s talent on a daily basis, noting his speed, route running, and leadership qualities.
“He had that quality you’re looking for in a leader,” Browner said. “He just got it. When he was here, it was as if he was already playing college. Midway through college, it was like he was a professional. When he gets to the NFL, he’ll be a pro from Day 1.”
Odunze himself is confident in his abilities. When asked at the scouting combine who he thought was the best receiver in the draft class, he simply replied, “Me.”
“I think my versatility will win on the field,” Odunze said. “I’ve shown all my skills, that they can translate to the NFL at a high level.”
Despite his lofty goals, Odunze remains grounded and eager to learn and improve. “I’m a student of the game,” he said. “Always willing to learn and understand there is room for improvement, regardless of where I am in my career.”
With his exceptional talent and unwavering determination, Rome Odunze is poised to make a significant impact in the NFL. Whether he achieves his ultimate goal of Hall of Fame status remains to be seen, but he is undoubtedly a star on the rise.
