Candace Cameron Bure has revealed that she nearly died while performing a stunt on the set of ‘Fuller House’. The actress was filming a scene where her character, DJ Tanner, zip-lined diagonally across the living room and landed on a platform. However, during a rehearsal, the rig was not set up correctly and there was no safety stop on the end of it.
As a result, when Bure landed, the whole mechanism slid off the track and came within an inch of her head. ‘If I just even shifted my weight the tiniest bit, it would have probably broken my neck and landed right on top of my head,’ she said.
The stunt guy was fired and the director decided to redo the whole set. Bure’s co-star, Scott Weinger, witnessed the terrifying moment and said he ‘couldn’t even get a word out because it happened within one second.’
Despite the traumatic experience, Bure said she loved working on ‘Fuller House’. The show came to an end in 2020 after five seasons. Since then, fans have expressed interest in another spinoff. However, original series cast member Bob Saget died in 2022, leaving the fate of the show unknown.
Last year, Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on ‘Full House’, said that another spinoff is not off the table, but without Saget, it wouldn’t be the same. ‘I would always leave that door open [to work on another show], but I will say that I think now without Bob — that’s been … on all of our minds is like, would it ever be the same without, without Danny Tanner?’ she said.
