Westfield City Councilor Bridget Matthews-Kane has declared her candidacy for state representative in the district encompassing Southampton and a majority of Westfield. The district is presently represented by state Rep. Kelly Pease (R-Westfield), who has confirmed his intention to run for reelection.
Matthews-Kane, a Democrat, has served on the Westfield City Council since 2016 and currently holds the position of chair of the council’s Public Health Committee. She is also a member of the Ordinance Committee and the Human Services Committee.
