Rio President Trever Scherrer Steps Down Due to Health Concerns

President of the Rio, Trevor Scherrer, has announced his resignation due to undisclosed health concerns. His responsibilities included overseeing the Rio’s transition from Caesars Entertainment ownership and recruiting the executive leadership team. He has over three decades of experience in the Las Vegas hospitality industry, holding executive positions at MGM Grand, The Mirage, New York-New York, and Resorts World Las Vegas.

Trevor Scherrer has played a significant role in the Rio’s operational transition since Caesars Entertainment sold the property to Dreamscape in 2019. Dreamscape has subsequently invested millions of dollars in remodeling projects, and Scherrer’s leadership has been instrumental in shaping the Rio’s future.

Despite his accomplishments, Scherrer’s health has taken precedence. Dreamscape, the company that operates the Rio, has expressed their support for his decision to focus on his health and family. The company’s founder, Eric Birnbaum, stated, “While it’s difficult to see him leave, we fully support his decision to focus on his health and spend time with his family.”

The search for a successor is underway, and Scherrer will remain with the company until a replacement is found. Dreamscape is confident that the Rio will continue to thrive under new leadership, and they remain committed to providing guests with an exceptional experience.
