Biden Wins Pennsylvania Democratic Primary, Trump to Secure GOP Victory

President Biden has emerged victorious in Pennsylvania’s Democratic primary, according to projections from Decision Desk HQ. This victory solidifies his position as the Democratic frontrunner, as he has already surpassed the delegate threshold needed to secure his party’s nomination. The win in the Keystone State could add as many as 159 delegates to his count. However, Biden has faced a protest vote from some Democrats who express frustration with his administration’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war.

Similar to efforts in other states, the Uncommitted PA group launched a write-in campaign in Tuesday’s primary to pressure Biden into declaring a permanent cease-fire in Gaza immediately.

On the Republican side, Donald Trump is set to notch another win in Pennsylvania’s Republican primary on Tuesday. Polling averages indicate that the GOP frontrunner leads Biden by a slim 0.4 percent in the battleground state, setting the stage for a competitive rematch of their 2020 showdown.

In addition to the presidential primaries, Pennsylvanians are also voting in the race for Sen. Bob Casey’s (D-Pa.) seat in the upper chamber and several closely watched House contests. The state is expected to play a significant role in determining who controls the White House and Congress next year.
