Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Ukraine will soon receive the largest-ever military aid package from the United Kingdom, worth 500 million pounds ($619 million). This package will include Storm Shadow and other types of missiles, hundreds of armored vehicles and watercraft, and ammunition. Zelensky stated these details on Tuesday on Telegram after a telephone conversation with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak.
According to Zelensky, they also discussed bilateral defense cooperation, with a focus on maritime and long-range capabilities. Xinhua news agency reported on this development.
The UK has been one of the leading donors to Ukraine, pledging nearly 12 billion pounds in support since February 2022, of which 7.1 billion is designated for military assistance, as per information from the British Parliament.
