The Weeknd’s Postponed Australian Tour Canceled, Refunds Issued

The Weeknd’s rescheduled Australian and New Zealand tour has been canceled, with ticket holders set to receive full refunds. The ‘After Hours Til Dawn Tour’ was initially postponed in October 2023 due to unforeseen circumstances, with the promise of new dates for 2024. However, those plans have now been scrapped. According to a statement from Live Nation, the tour producer, the existing 2023 tour will be canceled while they continue to explore rescheduling options. Ticket holders will be automatically refunded and will receive priority access to purchase tickets for the new tour once announced. The Canadian R&B star’s tour cancellation comes amidst challenges and soft ticket sales faced by Australia’s festival market. The inaugural Soundcheck report highlighted the complexities of operating festivals due to rising costs and changing consumer behavior. Despite the setback in Australia, The Weeknd’s musical success continues. He recently became the 18th artist to achieve 100 career hits on the Billboard Hot 100, including guest appearances on Future and Metro Boomin’s new album. In the United States, he has had seven No. 1 singles and four No. 1 albums on the Billboard charts. His hits collection, ‘The Highlights,’ is a triple-platinum success in Australia and continues to climb the charts.
