Langam Chaoba Devi Recommended as Head Coach for Senior Women’s National Football Team

The All India Football Federation’s Technical Committee, chaired by IM Vijayan, met virtually to deliberate on coaching appointments for the national teams. Among the key decisions taken, the committee recommended former player Langam Chaoba Devi as the new head coach for the senior women’s national team. Chaoba Devi’s appointment is rooted in her recent experience guiding the team during the Turkish Women’s Cup in February 2024, which impressed the Technical Committee. Joining Chaoba Devi in the coaching staff will be Priya PV as assistant coach and Ronibala Chanu as goalkeeping coach.

Additionally, the committee proposed Ranjan Chaudhuri as the head coach of the U19 men’s team, supported by Sandip Nandy as goalkeeping coach. Former player Ishfaq Ahmed was recommended as the head coach of the U16 team, with Yan Cheng Law as assistant coach and Mohammed Zakeer Hussain as goalkeeping coach. These recommendations underscore the commitment of the AIFF Technical Committee to identify and appoint qualified coaches for the development and success of Indian football at various levels.
