Presenter Richard Madeley has taken aim at pop icon Madonna for her history of tardiness, revealing his own frustrating experience with the singer years ago. During an appearance on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Madeley recalled an incident where Madonna kept him and his wife, Judy Finnigan, waiting for six hours for a scheduled interview. “She was six hours late for the interview,” Madeley recounted. “We didn’t start until about one in the morning. I was so angry.”
When asked by co-host Susanna Reid if Madonna’s eventual arrival was worth the wait, Madeley replied bluntly, “No, it wasn’t actually. She was weird.”
Madonna’s tardiness has come under fire yet again as three fans have filed a lawsuit against her for being two hours late to a recent concert in Washington, D.C. The fans allege that they were “deceived” by the singer and were deprived of the full concert experience.
This is not the first time Madonna has been criticized for her punctuality. In January, two fans launched a legal battle after attending one of her concerts in Brooklyn, New York. They claimed that they “would not have paid for tickets” if they had known she would be significantly late.
Madonna’s representatives and promoter Live Nation have defended her, stating that the delay in the Brooklyn concert was due to a technical issue. However, the recent lawsuit and Madeley’s personal anecdote suggest that Madonna’s reputation for tardiness persists.
