PlayStation 5 System Software Update 24.03-09.20.00 Enhances Game Help with Community Input

PlayStation 5 System Software Update 24.03-09.20.00 Released with Community Game Help Feature

Sony has announced the release of system software update 24.03-09.20.00 for the PlayStation 5 console, adding a new dimension to the Game Help feature with the introduction of Community Game Help. This feature allows users to access helpful hints and tips created from gameplay videos contributed by fellow players.

When accessing Game Help in supported games, users will now encounter hints labeled Community Game Help. These hints are generated from videos submitted by other players, providing a valuable source of assistance and guidance. Additionally, users have the ability to rate the usefulness of these hints, which helps Sony refine the curation of informative support content for the PlayStation community.

Community Game Help is accessible to all PS5 players, regardless of their PlayStation Plus subscription status. To participate, users can opt in through the Settings menu. They also have the option to opt out at any time, which will subsequently remove all their published videos from the platform.

Upon enabling the setting, the PS5 will automatically capture a video when certain activities are completed within a game. These videos are then reviewed by a moderator, and if approved, they are published as Game Help hints for other PlayStation users to view and rate. Sony assures users that the videos are removed from the PS5 console once they are uploaded to their servers, ensuring no impact on console storage space.

When a user’s video is published, they receive a system notification on their PS5 console. The entire process is automated, eliminating the need for users to manually edit or upload their gameplay clips. It’s important to note that only raw game footage is uploaded, and any images or audio from webcams, microphones, or party chat are not shared with moderators or the community.

Depending on the game being played, a user’s video may include online IDs or chat messages that are displayed on the game screen. This update also includes enhancements to system software performance and stability, as well as improvements to messaging and usability on specific screens.

Additional Notable Enhancements in Update 24.03-09.20.00:

Remote Play:

The persistent message “Remote Play connected.” can now be hidden during Remote Play sessions by enabling the “Hide Remote Play Connection Status” option in the Settings menu.

General Improvements:

Overall system performance and stability have been enhanced, and the user interface for messaging and certain screens has been refined for improved usability.
