Virender Sehwag: ‘I Can Spend That Much Money on My Holidays’

Legendary Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has revealed that he turned down a lucrative offer from the Big Bash League (BBL) after retiring from international cricket.

Sehwag, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest opening batters of all time, played his last international match in 2013 against Australia at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

After retiring from international cricket, Sehwag continued to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a few more years, representing the Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings.

However, in a recent interview on the Club Prairie Podcast, Sehwag revealed that he turned down an offer to play in the BBL, saying that he could spend that much money on his holidays.

“I received an offer to participate in the Big Bash. I said that okay, how much money you are offering? They said some $100,000. I replied that I can spend that much money on my holidays,” Sehwag said.

Sehwag also joked that global franchise leagues can’t afford him.

“Going out for one month playing Big bash or The Hundred, where you get only that $100,000, maybe $200,000. If you talk about millions, yes then I’m interested otherwise no,” Sehwag explained.

Sehwag’s comments have generated a lot of buzz on social media, with many fans praising him for his honesty and sense of humor.

It is clear that Sehwag is still very passionate about cricket, and he is enjoying his retirement by spending time with his family and friends and pursuing his other interests.
