Mohammad Rizwan Ruled Out of Remaining T20Is Against New Zealand
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Wednesday, April 24, announced that wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has been ruled out of the remaining two matches of the T20I series against New Zealand. Rizwan sustained an injury during the third match of the series while batting and was forced to retire hurt. He did not take the field for the remainder of the game.
PCB has issued a statement stating that Rizwan will miss the remaining two matches. The board said that it had received the radiology reports of Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan and, after a careful review with the team management, has decided to send both players to work on their rehabilitation with the medical panel at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
“PCB Medical Panel yesterday received Radiology reports of Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Irfan Khan. After reviewing the reports and in consultation with the Pakistan team management, it has been decided to rest the two players from Thursday’s and Saturday’s T20Is against New Zealand.”
“The two players will work on their rehabilitation with the PCB Medical Panel at NCA,” the statement read.
The series is currently in a tie, with Pakistan winning the second T20I after the first one was washed out. New Zealand won the third match of the series to make it 1-1 heading into the fourth game on April 25.
