Christina Applegate’s COVID-19 Journey Leads to Sapovirus Diagnosis

Christina Applegate has opened up about her challenging health journey, which started with a COVID-19 infection and has now progressed to a Sapovirus diagnosis. The actress disclosed on the MeSsy podcast, which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, that she initially contracted COVID-19 from a close friend who attended a bowling alley and subsequently spread the virus to her. Applegate’s COVID-19 symptoms subsequently evolved into long-term COVID, characterized by chest infections, irregular heartbeats, and intense fatigue. However, her ordeal did not end there. After battling these symptoms for some time, Applegate experienced severe diarrhea that left her bedridden and even requiring diapers for support. A stool test later confirmed that she had contracted Sapovirus, a viral infection commonly caused by ingesting contaminated food or water. Applegate explained that she believes she may have contracted the virus from a salad she consumed at a restaurant. She has been battling the illness for nearly three weeks and shared her story to raise awareness about the potential long-term effects of COVID-19 and the importance of practicing good hygiene to prevent the spread of disease.
