Fifth Arrest in Connection to Texas County Murders
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) has made a significant breakthrough in the Texas County murder investigation, resulting in the arrest of Paul Grice, 31. Grice joins four other suspects already in custody for their alleged involvement in the deaths of Veronica Butler, 27, and Jillian Kelley, 39, whose bodies were discovered in rural Texas County on April 14.
According to OSBI, Grice has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, and one count of conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree. The four other individuals arrested in connection with the case are Tifany Adams, 54, and her boyfriend, Tad Cullum, 43, both of Keyes, Oklahoma, along with Cole and Cora Twombly of Texhoma, Oklahoma.
An affidavit released by OSBI provides chilling details of the crime, suggesting that Butler, who was on her way to a supervised visit with her children, and Kelley, who was the court-appointed supervisor for the visitation, were targeted by a group identified as “God’s Misfits,” known for its anti-government and religious beliefs.
The investigation was initiated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department, which requested OSBI’s assistance in unraveling the suspicious disappearance of Butler and Kelley. Authorities believe the attack was meticulously planned, and all four individuals arrested were allegedly part of the cult-like group.
The arrests represent a major step forward in the investigation, and additional details are expected to emerge as the case progresses through the legal system.
