Ventura Police Department apprehended two teenage boys, aged 14 and 17, for an armed robbery incident involving an unserialized firearm, commonly termed a ‘ghost gun.’ The teenagers approached a 41-year-old woman on the 800 block of Harbor Boulevard at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday evening. They brandished a handgun, seized her purse, and escaped on bicycles heading westward. However, their freedom was short-lived. Approximately 25 minutes later, an officer spotted the suspects in the 400 block of North Ventura Avenue. Upon searching, officers recovered the loaded ghost gun and some of the victim’s stolen belongings. The teenagers were taken into custody and charged with armed robbery, possession of a loaded gun, possession of a ghost gun, and criminal conspiracy. They were subsequently booked into juvenile hall.
