Rahul Gandhi, a prominent leader of the Congress party, has vehemently denounced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration, accusing it of fostering an environment of injustice that has placed India at the forefront of global inequity. Speaking at a campaign rally in Solapur, Maharashtra, in support of the Congress candidate Praniti Shinde, Gandhi expressed his grave concerns about the current state of affairs in the country.
Gandhi asserted that justice must prevail and condemned Modi for allegedly creating a climate of injustice. He accused the Prime Minister of being apprehensive due to the realization that his grip on power is slipping away. Gandhi suggested that Modi’s awareness of potential legal repercussions stemming from the electoral bond scandal is the primary motivation behind his constant fabrications. However, he emphasized that Modi’s attempts to evade accountability will prove futile on this occasion.
Gandhi also criticized Modi for allegedly writing off loans amounting to Rs 16 lakh crore for a limited group of 22-25 individuals, a sum that, according to Gandhi, could have sustained the country’s youth population for 24 years. He further highlighted the alarming disparity in wealth distribution, stating that the combined wealth of a small number of billionaires equals that of the entire 70 crore population of India.
Gandhi attributed the record-high unemployment rate to the concentration of 40% of the nation’s wealth in the hands of a mere 1% of the population. He promised that an INDIA bloc victory would result in the creation of millions of millionaires. Gandhi pledged to prioritize farmers’ welfare, stating that the party would establish a dedicated commission to oversee loan waivers and provide recommendations. He also announced the Mahalaxmi scheme, which aims to provide Rs 1 lakh annually, equivalent to Rs 8,500 per month, to women from underprivileged households. Additionally, degree and diploma holders will receive apprenticeships in PSUs and other institutions for a year, along with a monthly stipend of Rs 8,500.
Gandhi criticized the BJP, accusing them of undermining the Constitution, which he said safeguards the rights of the poor, laborers, farmers, and marginalized communities. He pointed out that while the Prime Minister claims to belong to the Other Backward Class, his stance shifted when the Congress demanded a caste census. Gandhi questioned why Modi identifies himself as an OBC if he believes caste distinctions are irrelevant. Gandhi also expressed concerns about the government’s lack of transparency regarding donor identities, suggesting potential corruption.
