Vidya Balan and Pratik Gandhi’s ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar,’ which hit theaters on April 19, 2024, has crossed the Rs 3 crore mark at the domestic box office within six days of its release. The romantic comedy, which also stars Ileana D’Cruz and Sendhil Ramamurthy, opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences but has struggled at the box office during weekdays, earning less than Rs 30 lakh daily.
Despite facing competition from Ektaa Kapoor’s ‘LSD 2,’ ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ managed to sustain and earn over Rs 3 crore in six days. On its sixth day, the film saw a slight increase in earnings, with an estimated Rs 31 lakh, bringing its total domestic box office collection to Rs 3.2 crore.
‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ marks the directorial debut of Shirsha Guha Thakurta and is jointly written by Suprotim Sengupta, Amrita Bagchi, and Eisha Chopra. Ileana D’Cruz, who plays a lead role in the film, returns to the big screen after embracing motherhood, while Sendhil Ramamurthy’s last Hindi film appearance was in Raj and DK’s acclaimed ‘Shor in the City.’
It remains to be seen if ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ will experience an incline in collection during its second weekend at the box office.
