The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 Session 2 Paper 1 (BTech and BE) assessment. Candidates can access their results on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. This year, a total of 56 candidates have achieved a perfect 100 percentile. Among them, 15 candidates scored 100 percentile, with seven each from Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh, six from Delhi, and five from Rajasthan. Notably, Sanvi Jain from Karnataka and Shayna Sinha from Delhi are the two female candidates who have achieved the perfect score, continuing the trend of increasing female participation and success in engineering entrance exams. Comparatively, last year saw 43 candidates achieving full marks. This has also meant that the cut-off for the JEE (Advanced), which is the qualifying examination for entry into the premier Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) colleges, will have risen sharply.
A detailed breakdown of the registration and participation numbers for the JEE Main 2024 April session reveals a significant turnout. A total of 1,179,569 candidates registered for the April session, with 806,045 males, 373,515 females, and 9 candidates identifying as third gender. Of these, 1,067,959 candidates appeared for the second session of the exam, including 738,351 males, 329,600 females, and 8 transgender candidates. Additionally, 924,636 candidates registered for both the January and April sessions this year, with 822,899 candidates appearing for the exams. The January session saw 1,170,048 candidates taking the exam, and 1,415,110 unique candidates appeared for both sessions combined, as reported by NTA.
