Lahore Commissioner Randhawa Expected as Islamabad Chief Commissioner

According to a notification issued by the interior ministry, the senior bureaucrat, Chaudhry Muhammad Ali Randhawa, would be entrusted with the responsibilities of the chief commissioner’s office and the Capital Development Authority (CDA). The chief commissioner also serves as a board member of the CDA, as stipulated in the CDA Ordinance. Official sources have indicated that Randhawa’s appointment as chief commissioner is contingent upon Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s approval. Subsequently, the Cabinet Division would formalize his appointment as the CDA chief, replacing Captain (retd) Anwarul Haq in both capacities. In other personnel changes within the CDA, Director General Administration Aamir Khalil will succeed Abdul Razzaq as DG Resources, while Abdul Razzaq will assume the role of Director HR. Director Administration Fayyaz Ahmad Watto has been vested with additional responsibilities as DG Administration. Meanwhile, Deputy Director General Estate has been reassigned as DG Human Resource. Deputy DG HR Kamran Bakht has been directed to report to the HR department for redeployment. Additionally, a BPS-18 police officer, Hina Munawwar, has been deputed to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Separately, the Establishment Division has nominated six senior public officers for a course at the National Defence University (NDU). These include Joint Secretary Finance Noreen Bashir, DG Foreign Affairs Tahir Hussain Andrabi, DG Foreign Affairs Ali Asad Gilani, DIG FIA Headquarters Ali Asad Gilani, and Joint Secretary Trade Bilal Pasha.
