NewJeans Members Receive Multi-Million Dollar Payouts; ADOR Reports Earnings Growth

According to disclosed ADOR records, members of the popular K-pop girl group NewJeans reportedly received individual payments of KRW5.2 billion (approximately USD3.7 million) in 2023. The collective payout totaled KRW26.1 billion (USD19 million), resulting in an impressive KRW5.2 billion (USD3.7 million) for each member. These disclosures occurred amidst an ongoing dispute between ADOR and its parent company, HYBE, which revealed that ADOR generated revenue of KRW110.3 billion (USD80 million) in 2023. This substantial growth made ADOR the third highest-earning label under HYBE for the year, trailing behind Big Hit Music (KRW552.3 billion) and Pledis Entertainment (KRW327.2 billion). ADOR’s financial success was further evidenced by its operating profit of KRW33.5 billion (USD24.3 million), a significant improvement from the KRW4.0 billion (USD2.9 million) loss incurred the previous year.

Despite the ongoing dispute between HYBE and ADOR, the girl group NewJeans remains unaffected and is reportedly on track to release new music next month, according to a source familiar with the situation. The group had previously announced plans to release two single albums, further solidifying their presence in the K-pop landscape.
