Butlins has debuted 128 new premium lodges at its well-known Skegness resort, a substantial investment of £12 million. These accommodations are ideal for family vacations and adult-only Big Weekenders and complement the site’s recently opened Skypark playground.
The resort’s closest location to Manchester, Butlins Skegness welcomes numerous families, particularly during school breaks. The luxurious lodges are housed in the new Maple Walk village, touted as a peaceful retreat within easy reach of the resort’s core. Guests have full access to entertainment venues, facilities, and activities, including the Skypark playground. The village opened recently and boasts its own play area.
Each lodge can accommodate up to six guests with three bedrooms. The main bedroom features a king-sized bed and an en-suite shower room, while the two twin rooms provide ample space for the whole family. A fully equipped kitchen includes a full-sized fridge-freezer, microwave, and hob. Outside, a private deck with outdoor furniture and parking for two cars ensures convenience and comfort.
Among the premium amenities included in the lodges are Wi-Fi, tea and coffee-making facilities, towels, and housekeeping. Adapted units are also available for wheelchair users, ensuring accessibility for all guests.
The resort offers a range of other accommodation options, including apartments, chalets, room-only accommodations, and gold and platinum caravans. Currently, the pool is partially open due to a leak, but guests can still enjoy the rides, flumes, rapids, and tots pool. The Big Top Circus and Roller Rink remain open and are complimentary to use.
Last year, the resort introduced the £2.5 million Skypark, featuring the largest ride of its kind in the UK. Designed for children of all abilities to play together, it boasts interactive and sensory elements, including the country’s longest interactive seesaw that powers the lighting. There are four ‘epic’ climbing towers, with the tallest standing at 14 meters, and a 10-meter tube slide that illuminates as children descend.
The state-of-the-art playground also includes a wheelchair-accessible trampoline and roundabout, sit-up swings for support and socialization, and wheelchair-friendly walkways and ramps. The Butlin’s Skypark Cafe is adjacent to the park, providing a relaxing spot for adults to supervise their children while they play.
Prices for the new lodges start from £275 for a four-night stay, based on six guests sharing a new Premium Lodge for the Showtime Term-time Midweek break in late September.
