Sift Kaur Samra, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar Claim Olympic Selection Trial Victories

At the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range on Friday, Sift Kaur Samra, the ruling Asian Games champion and world record holder in women’s 3P, displayed her dominance by capturing the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions (3P) Olympic Selection Trial (OST) T2 final with a score of 465.1. Ashi Choksey and Anjum Moudgil followed closely behind in second and third place, respectively. Sift had previously triumphed in the women’s 3P OST T1 earlier in the week at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, India’s number one in men’s 3P and a Paris quota holder, emerged victorious in the men’s 3P OST T2 final. In a nail-biting climax, Tomar secured the win with a final score of 463.6, overcoming Akhil Sheoran by a mere 0.1 point.

The ongoing OSTs also witnessed the qualification round for the men’s and women’s 10m air rifle and air pistol T2. Nancy continued her impressive form, topping the women’s air rifle with a score of 633.1, while Sandeep Singh led the men’s event with a solid 632.6. In the women’s air pistol, Rhythm Sangwan emerged on top with a score of 584, and Sarabjot Singh topped the men’s air pistol qualification with 581.

All four finals, including the men’s and women’s 10m air rifle and air pistol, are scheduled to take place on the concluding day of the OSTs on Saturday.
