Prachi Nigam, the Uttar Pradesh Board Class 10 topper who scored an impressive 98.5% marks, has been subjected to online harassment and criticism due to her facial hair. However, Nigam has demonstrated remarkable resilience and self-assurance in the face of these challenges, emphasizing that her academic achievements hold greater significance to her than her physical appearance.
In a recent interview, Nigam expressed her initial indifference to the negative comments she encountered on social media, stating, “When I saw that people were trolling me, it didn’t bother me much. My marks matter, not my facial hair.” She went on to acknowledge the support she received from others, saying, “At the same time, there were those who supported me. I want to thank everyone.”
Nigam’s mother, Mamta, expressed her concern and dismay over the treatment her daughter received online. She said, “When people trolled her, I felt bad about it. Many people said bad things about her. We told Prachi not to let it weigh on her mind.”
Despite the unwarranted attention, Nigam remains focused on her studies and is determined not to let the opinions of others affect her. She added, “However God has made me, I am okay with it. For those who feel there is a difference, it doesn’t matter. Even Chanakya was trolled, and he did not care. Similarly, I also don’t care and will focus on my studies.”
Prachi Nigam’s unwavering self-belief and resilience in the face of adversity serve as an inspiration to others who may encounter similar challenges. Her story highlights the importance of valuing one’s own worth and focusing on personal growth, regardless of external pressures.
