Delhi Police Summons Telangana CM in Amit Shah Fake Video Case

The Delhi Police has summoned Telangana Chief Minister and Congress leader Revant Reddy in connection with a fake video case involving Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah. The Congress leader has been asked to appear before Delhi Police’s IFSO unit (Cyber Unit) on May 1, with his mobile phone.

The Delhi Police has stated that its special cell lodged an FIR in connection with the circulation of a doctored video of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s speech regarding reservation issues on different social media platforms. Sources indicate that arrests are likely to follow.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) had noted in the complaint that it had discovered doctored videos circulating on Facebook and Twitter. The MHA added that the video appeared to be manipulated to spread misleading information, potentially creating disharmony among communities and impacting public tranquility and order.
