Regina’s Neuron E-Scooters Return for Second Season, Bring Environmental and Economic Benefits

Regina’s Neuron e-scooters are back in service for the summer season, providing a convenient, sustainable, and economical mode of transportation for residents and visitors alike. Last year’s successful launch saw riders logging over 165,000 kilometers in the city. According to Neuron, the average trip distance was 2.9 kilometers and took 17 minutes. A recent survey conducted by the company revealed that 9 out of 10 people believe e-scooters have had a positive impact on Regina. Significantly, 54% of all e-scooter trips in Regina replaced car journeys, resulting in an estimated reduction of 14 tonnes of CO2 emissions. This not only reduces congestion but also aligns with the city’s sustainability goals. “We are thrilled to be back scooting in Regina this year,” said Ankush Karwal, General Manager of Neuron Mobility Canada. “Residents and visitors are taking advantage of Neuron’s safety-first e-scooters by visiting local businesses and attractions. Last year, half of all e-scooter trips resulted in a purchase at a local business, with an estimated local economic impact of $4.1 million.” To use a Neuron scooter in Regina, riders must be at least 16 years old, wear a helmet, and adhere to designated riding areas, including bike lanes, multi-use trails, pathways, and streets with a speed limit of 50 km/hr or lower. Riders can book and operate the e-scooters through Neuron’s mobile app. Single trips cost $1.15 to unlock and 39 cents per minute thereafter. Neuron’s return to Regina not only provides a fun and convenient way to get around but also contributes to environmental and economic sustainability in the city.
