On Wednesday, the Delhi Police approached Russian officials after 200 schools received bomb threat emails. Authorities involved in the investigation revealed that Indian authorities have contacted the National Central Bureau in Moscow to obtain details about the individual who created the email account using the country’s domain. Between 5:47 am and 2:13 pm on Wednesday, at least 125 bomb threat messages were received by various Delhi schools. The emails claimed the presence of numerous explosive devices on the premises. The emails, sent from the ‘sawariim@mail.ru’ account, employed a virtual private network (VPN) to conceal the sender’s identity. The Delhi Police, in an FIR they filed, stated that the objective was to spread mass panic and disrupt public order. (Inputs from agencies)
