As the countdown to my summer 2024 wedding continues, the excitement builds, and with 114 days left, the focus shifts to the fun details, including the bridal fashion. Securing the perfect wedding dress is a milestone, but it is equally crucial to find the shoes that will complete the look.

I embarked on this journey with an open mind, trying on a range of styles, from classic pumps to glittering heels, to ensure I didn’t miss out on anything fabulous.
Bergdorf Goodman was my starting point, and as I stepped onto the manicured shoe floor, I embraced a ‘more-the-merrier’ approach. Naturally, I gravitated towards Manolo Blahnik, trying on their signature Hangisi style in both heeled slingback and flat forms. While heels add a touch of elegance, the comfort of a ballet flat on your big day is undeniable.
Moving beyond the classics, I explored more dramatic options, such as Miu Miu’s crystal-adorned slingbacks and Valentino’s 3-D floral pumps. While statement-making, I realized they were better suited as options rather than my actual wedding shoes. My dress deserved to be the star of the show.
I couldn’t resist trying on a pair of two-toned Chanel slingbacks, a style that holds a special place in my heart. I consider myself a Chanel slingback connoisseur, with both classic and burgundy pairs in my collection. While I loved them, the black cap-toe contrasted too starkly with my off-white dress. Nevertheless, I know I’ll return for them in the future.
