There have been some reports of the Core i7-13700K and Core i7-14700K being affected, but these instances are less common. The issues predominantly arise during gaming, with Oodle, a decompression technology utilized in PC games, pinpointing the cause to overly optimistic BIOS settings.
Temporary Fixes by Motherboard Manufacturer
MSI Motherboards:
– Restore default BIOS settings by pressing the Delete key during boot-up.
– Adjust the CPU cooler tuning setting to ‘Boxed cooler’ and the CPU lite load control to ‘Intel default.’
Asus Motherboards:
– Update the BIOS to the latest version from Asus’ website.
– Enable the ‘Intel Baseline Profile’ in the Ai Tweaker section of the BIOS.
Gigabyte Motherboards:
– Flash the beta BIOS to the motherboard.
– Enter Advanced mode in the BIOS and navigate to ‘Advanced CPU settings.’
– Set the ‘Turbo power limits’ option to ‘Intel BaseLine.’
ASRock Motherboards:
– Update the BIOS to the beta version (for B760 motherboards only).
– Enable the ‘Intel Baseline Profile’ setting.
