Higher Education Department Cracks Down on Colleges with Zero Admissions
The Higher Education Department in Odisha has launched an initiative to identify degree colleges facing zero admissions in specific subjects. This move is driven by concerns over the diminishing quality and viability of higher education in the state.
RDEs in Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur have issued notices to colleges reporting zero admissions, requesting clarifications and detailed reports within a week. Some of the affected institutions include:
* Govt Women’s College, Titilagarh
* Sushilabati Govt Women’s College, Rourkela
* Govt Autonomous College, Rourkela
* Govt Women’s College, Sundargarh
The department intends to take decisive action, including potential closures, against colleges with persistent zero admissions. The investigation aims to ensure that students have access to quality higher education opportunities in viable institutions.
