Fetterman Slams Anti-Israel Protests, Calls for Focus on Hamas

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) has denounced anti-Israel protests on college campuses, asserting that they hinder the pursuit of peace in the Middle East. Fetterman expressed frustration over the lack of attention given to the plight of hostages seized by Hamas during the recent attack on Israel and maintained that their safe return should be the primary focus of discussions. He questioned the rationale behind protests against Israel instead of Hamas, which he accused of rejecting peace efforts.

Fetterman emphasized that anti-Israel demonstrations have not contributed to peace in the region and ironically have had the opposite effect. He highlighted the availability of a ceasefire proposal that Hamas has refused to accept and argued that protests should demand its implementation. Fetterman believes that a ceasefire would bring an end to the ongoing violence and suffering in Gaza. He unequivocally rejected any conditions being imposed on Israel and placed the blame for the ongoing situation solely on Hamas.

Fetterman declared that an end to the hostilities could be achieved if Hamas surrendered and released the hostages. He reiterated his frustration over the lack of priority given to the hostages’ welfare and emphasized that their return would immediately alleviate the crisis in Gaza.
