PM Modi Pays Homage to Rabindranath Tagore on His Birth Anniversary

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to pay his respects to the renowned Bengali polymath, Rabindranath Tagore, on the occasion of his birth anniversary. In a heartfelt message, PM Modi stated, “I pay homage to Gurudev Tagore, on the occasion of his Jayanti. His enduring wisdom and genius continue to inspire and enlighten innumerable people across generations.” The message was accompanied by a video clip that provided an insightful glimpse into the life of Tagore, fondly known as ‘the Bard of Bengal’.

Born on May 8, 1861, in Calcutta, Rabindranath Tagore was a multitalented and iconic figure who made significant contributions across various disciplines. A Bengali Brahmin by birth, Tagore’s achievements earned him global recognition. His literary prowess was recognized with the prestigious Nobel Prize in Literature, making him the first non-European to receive this accolade.
