Repolling Underway in Rajasthan’s Dudhwa Khurd Over Bogus Voting Allegations

Repolling is currently underway at the Dudhwa Khurd polling station in Rajasthan’s Barmer Lok Sabha constituency. The decision for repolling was made following complaints of vote confidentiality violations. Social media videos emerged showcasing instances of bogus voting and voters being denied their democratic right to vote. In light of these allegations, the Barmer District Election Officer has taken swift action, suspending four members of the polling team that oversaw the initial voting process.

Voting in the Barmer Lok Sabha constituency took place during the second phase on April 26. According to Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta, the repolling will be conducted from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at polling center number 50, situated in Dudhwa Khurd booth of the Chauhtan assembly constituency. A total of 1,294 eligible voters are expected to exercise their franchise.

The Election Commission has issued clear instructions for the repolling process, and preparations are complete to ensure smooth execution. Webcasting will be implemented at the polling station to maintain transparency. Earlier, repolling was conducted on May 2 at a polling station in the Ajmer Lok Sabha constituency due to similar concerns.

Rajasthan has a total of 25 Lok Sabha seats. The first phase of polling, held on April 19, covered 12 seats, while 13 seats went to polls in the second phase on April 26.
