SVF will leverage its extensive experience in development operations management for microgrids, coupled with its deep understanding of the regional environment, to improve utility services for guests and residents at Red Frog Beach. This collaboration marks a move towards the innovative “Wessco” model, which broadens the scope of Energy as a Service to include waste, water, and energy solutions.
The initial stage of the partnership involves evaluating existing operations and implementing targeted enhancements. SVF and OGI will also finalize funding arrangements for new infrastructure at the resort. This includes a 1.2MW solar farm, a 2.4MWhr battery storage system, an advanced desalination plant, a new sanitary facility, and updated generator sets and controls. These upgrades aim to enhance the guest experience, minimize environmental impact, and contribute to the overall growth of the resort.
Casco Capital Group, which manages Red Frog Beach Resort, has expressed support for this new development phase, confident that SVF’s expertise and commitment to excellence will benefit both the resort and its guests. OGI, the incumbent utilities provider, acknowledges SVF’s capabilities and anticipates a positive impact from this transition.
