Former Prime Minister and JD(S) patriarch H.D. Deve Gowda has broken his silence over the sexual abuse charges leveled against his grandson and MP Prajwal Revanna. Gowda, who turned 92 on Saturday, stated that he has no objection to action being taken against Prajwal if he is found guilty. However, he raised concerns about the sexual harassment and kidnap charges against his son, JD(S) MLA H.D. Revanna, suggesting that they were “created” without providing further details due to the matter being subjudice.
Gowda’s statement echoes the earlier remarks made by his other son and state JD(S) chief, Kumaraswamy, who emphasized that no one should be spared if found guilty. Prajwal Revanna, 33, is facing multiple allegations of sexually abusing women. He reportedly left for Germany on April 27th and remains at large. An Interpol Blue Corner Notice has been issued against him in an attempt to bring him back.
H.D. Revanna, Gowda’s 66-year-old son and a former Minister, has obtained interim anticipatory bail from a court in Bengaluru in connection with the same sexual assault case. Gowda acknowledged the involvement of multiple individuals in the alleged incidents but declined to name names, stating that Kumaraswamy would provide further information on the appropriate course of action.
